THE DREAM OF STUDYING ABROAD BECOMING TRUE
You've probably already heard of a year studying abroad, but do you really know everything behind it?
For those who have never heard of it, a year studying abroad is an experience that allows you to study in a country of your choice for a period ranging from 3 to 9 months.
Departure usually takes place in the 4th year of high school and this is possible thanks to the support of agencies, public or private, which assist you from departure until return.
These, after a careful selection to verify the student's suitability for participation in the program, take steps to pair him or her up with the right family and to introduce them to the foreign school.
We (the authors of this article) will undertake this experience with two different associations: Wep and Intercultura.
There were two selection phases that we faced: first we had to take a psychological test and then do a suitability interview. During the pre-departure period, the associations will always keep in contact with the student to help them compile a dossier that will be used to present the student to the foreign country. Furthermore, these two associations offer different programs for the departure: with Wep before the experience you will be able to spend 3 days in the beautiful city of New York, while with Intercultura those selected at a national level will find themselves in Rome.
A truly unique experience which, however, must be approached with the right maturity, which is why for example there are a series of things that are forbidden to students such as smoking and drinking alcohol.
Since we haven't left yet, we can only imagine what awaits us from this adventure which will allow us both to grow emotionally and to open our minds, being immersed alone in a cultural context completely different from ours.
Furthermore, such an experience will also benefit us in our workplace in the future. For us, one of the most difficult aspects will be to conform to a new and different reality, but above all, to leave our country for a period with all the certainties that we have here. We will come back, however, knowing that we have found another country to consider as a second home, where a piece of our heart will remain forever.

IL SOGNO DI STUDIARE ALL’ESTERO DIVENTA REALTÀ
Probabilmente avete già sentito parlare di anno all'estero, ma sapete veramente tutto ciò che si cela dietro ad esso?
Per chi non ne ha mai sentito parlare, l’anno all’estero è un’esperienza che ti permette di studiare in un paese da te scelto per un periodo che varia dai 3 mesi ai 9.
La partenza abitualmente avviene nel 4 anno di scuola superiore e ciò è possibile grazie al sostegno delle agenzie, pubbliche o private, che ti assistono dalla partenza fino al rientro. Queste, dopo un accurata selezione per verificare l’idoneità dello studente alla partecipazione del programma, si attivano per associarlo a una famiglia adeguata e per presentarlo alla scuola estera.
Noi intraprenderemo questa esperienza con due associazioni diverse: wep e intercultura.
Le fasi di selezione che noi abbiamo affrontato sono state due: prima siamo state sottoposte a un test psicologico poi ad un colloquio di idoneità. Durante il periodo di pre partenza le associazioni si terranno sempre in contatto con lo studente per aiutarlo nella compilazione di un fascicolo che servirà per presentare lo studente al paese estero. Inoltre queste due associazioni propongono programmi diversi per la partenza: con wep prima dell’esperienza si potranno passare 3 giorni nella bellissima New York, mentre con intercultura i selezionati a livello nazionale si troveranno a Roma.
Un'esperienza davvero unica che però deve essere affrontata con la giusta maturità, per questo per esempio ci sono una serie di cose che vengono proibite agli studenti come il fumo e l'assunzione di alcool.
Non essendo ancora partite possiamo solo immaginarci ciò che ci aspetta da questa avventura che ci permetterà sia di crescere emotivamente sia di aprire la nostra mente, essendo immerse da sole in un contesto culturale completamente diverso dal nostro.
Inoltre un'esperienza del genere nel futuro darà i suoi frutti anche in campo lavorativo. Uno degli aspetti più difficili sarà secondo noi conformarsi con una nuova e diversa realtà, ma soprattutto lasciare per un periodo il nostro paese di origine con tutte le certezze che qui abbiamo.Torneremo indietro, però, sapendo di avere trovato un altro paese da poter considerare come una seconda casa, dove resterà per sempre un pezzo del nostro cuore.
