The students, aged between 10 and 11, got burns on their face, as well as their chest, lower abdomen and legs, said the Sidney Morning Herald (SMH).
A teacher has been injured and treated for minor injuries too.
Many parents inquired about what had happened but everything seemed under control.
One of the parents said that seeing the event online he was worried and, another parent, added that the teacher who did the experiment was a loved person.
Tyson Atkins revealed that the experiment failed due to chemical burns.
Australian media reports said that it was the science experiment known as “carbon sugar snake”, when sugar is mixed with sodium bicarbonate.

Anche un'insegnante è stata ferita e curata per danni minori.
Molti genitori si sono informati sull’accaduto ma tutto sembrava sotto controllo.
Uno dei genitori ha detto che vedendo l’accaduto online si è preoccupato e, un altro genitore, ha aggiunto che il professore che ha svolto l’esperimento era una persona amata.
Tyson Atkins ha rivelato che l’esperimento è fallito a causa di ustioni chimiche.
I media australiani hanno detto che nell'esperimento scientifico noto come “serpente di zucchero di carbonio” viene mescolato lo zucchero con il bicarbonato di sodio.
