Thanks to the article titled ”China clamps down on cartoons in latest morality move” published in “The Guardian”, we were able to understand how important it is, for some countries, to present a good image to the rest of the world.
Lately, Chinese entertainment industries have been encouraged by the communist party to produce healthier cartoons, which should contain less violence and pornographic material, in order to convey more educational messages to children. In fact the greatest part of the viewers is made up of young people. We believe this idea is not completely wrong, since we have witnessed, too, some cartoon scenes which can be easily misunderstood, and one of our group members, who is accustomed to watching Chinese programs, also said she doesn’t find much difference between Italian and Chinese television shows. Even in Italy there have been discussions over a few animated shows and films which were thought to be too violent, but there have never been such drastic decisions.
The Chinese National Radio and Television Administration considers that programs noticeable by everyone must convey truth and beauty. Campaigns are also trying to suppress cultural and economical inequality, with the main object of creating the circumstances to reach unity for the population. Even though it might not seem educational to insert cruelty and awfulness in the products, it’s also not right to only show the bright part of the world; we believe that when young people face reality, they won’t be able to cope with all its dark sides.
The Chinese Government is banning inadequate reality shows and is acting up to celebrities who behave unethically. Furthermore, there is not much acceptance in regards to people who don’t follow the right esthetical rules or who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Influencers and famous people are expected to follow correct moral behaviours, in order to be a good example to the nation that follows them.We believe it’s right to give less visibility to influencers who intentionally give off a negative and completely non educational message, but eliminating the LGBTQ+ community or people with disabilities, and general minorities, means not all the citizens will be represented.
The concern is mostly in regards to the possible consequences that the consumption of certain content, from young Chinese people, is going to have on the future of the country’s society. All things considered, we think that the “removal project” can actually be harmful to the uniting aim of the communist Party. By reading the article, it's really clear that this non democratic country is trying to control its citizens as much as possible, and wants to regulate every little aspect of their lives; one way of doing this is by putting more and more directives and rules on social networks. The objective is to send out the message that everything is fine and that the political system doesn't make mistakes, which is a typical move of dictatorships.

Grazie all’articolo, intitolato “China clamps down on cartoons in latest morality move”, pubblicato su “The Guardian”, abbiamo avuto l’occasione di capire quanto per certi paesi sia importante l’immagine che presentano agli altri Stati.
Le industrie cinematografiche cinesi sono incoraggiate dal partito comunista a produrre cartoni più sani e che presentino meno contenuti violenti e volgari, in modo da trasmettere valori più educativi per bambini e giovani. Secondo noi questa idea non è totalmente sbagliata, dal momento che anche noi durante l’infanzia abbiamo visto scene di cartoni che possono essere fraintese facilmente, inoltre una componente del nostro gruppo, che è abituata a guardare programmi cinesi, dice di non trovare molta differenza tra i due tipi di programmi. Anche in Italia ci sono state alcune discussioni riguardo certi cartoni animati che erano ritenuti troppo violenti, ma non ci sono mai state effettivamente tali drastiche decisioni.
La radio nazionale e l’amministrazione televisiva Cinese ritengono che i programmi visibili a tutti debbano insegnare importanti valori di verità, bontà e bellezza. Le campagne stanno anche cercando di eliminare la disuguaglianza a livello di cultura ed economia, con l’intento di creare in qualche modo le circostanze che portino ad un popolo unito. Nonostante possa non sembrare educativo inserire crudeltà e brutalità nei prodotti, non è nemmeno corretto mostrare solo la parte innocente del mondo; noi crediamo che quando i giovani saranno faccia a faccia con la realtà, non saranno capaci di affrontarne tutte le insidie.
Il governo sta inoltre bandendo i reality show inappropriati e sta prendendo provvedimenti nei confronti delle celebrità che portano avanti un comportamento non etico. Inoltre non vi è molta tolleranza verso persone che non rispettano i canoni estetici o che fanno parte della comunità LGBTQ+. Alle persone famose è richiesto di seguire dei corretti comportamenti morali, come per dare esempio a chiunque li segua. E’ giusto lasciare meno visibilità agli influencers che intenzionalmente portano avanti un messaggio non positivo o istruttivo, ma eliminando la comunità LGBTQ+ o le persone aventi disabilità , e le minoranze sociali in genere, non si rappresenta la totalità dei cittadini.
La preoccupazione è soprattutto rivolta verso le possibili conseguenze che la consumazione di certi contenuti, da parte della giovane popolazione cinese, avrà nel futuro della società del Paese. Considerando tutto, noi pensiamo che il “progetto di rimozione” possa essere più che altro dannoso allo scopo di unità del partito comunista. Leggendo l'articolo è chiaro che questa nazione non democratica sta cercando di controllare i propri cittadini il più possibile, e vuole regolare ogni minimo aspetto delle loro vite; un modo di fare ciò è imponendo sempre più direttive e regole sui social network. L'obiettivo è promuovere il messaggio che tutto è sempre sotto controllo e che il sistema politico non sbaglia mai, il che è una tipica mossa dei governi dittatoriali.
